What royalties do you give?
Our royalties are based on the Australian Society of Authors standards.
What is your time frame for considering a manuscript?
We will generally respond to confirm we received your manuscript within 1-2 weeks. We will let you know if it being considered for publication within 2-3 months. At the moment we have our publication list full until October 2009, however we will be looking for new titles especially for publication next year.
Where are your titles available?
Our titles are available through bookstores, online at Buy Australian books, the Christian titles, (some which are published with our new imprint, Even Before Publishing) are available through Koorong. If you want to see any of our titles before you buy them, please ask for them at your local library.
Do you have an editor to look at the book?
Yes we have editors that will look at the book. However it is worth having your own manuscript be well edited and professional before sending for review.
Do you offer manuscript appraisals?
No. If you have a manuscript appraisal done however we will consider that in our decisions for publication.
Do you have authors who do workshops?
Yes Rochelle Manners can do workshops on children's writing, self-publishing and traditional publishing. Further workshop options will be available when our author database grows. However if you are looking for someone to do a workshop or speak in a school we are part of a network of authors.
Can you provide help for me to self-publish?
We no longer offer to help you self-publish by making you pay for a book that we publish. We can offer a selfpublishing consultation where we will advise you on some angles that you can take to selfpublish your work. However as Wombat Books now only publishes books at no author cost we hope you will consider sending your manuscripts for review.
